Having heard much about Claypots Seafood Restaurant in St Kilda, their new offshoot at Portsea was a disappointment. The menu was limited and despite the part ownership of the restaurant by a mussel supplier in Mt Martha, they were not available. The food was to say the least 'average' and the service just OK. It is understood that this restaurant has opened on a trial basis for six months but based on the way it was operating I doubt it will last that long. On a busy tourist day in early January there customers were few.
