THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA

SPECTACULAR AND MASSIVE

BUT HOW BAD WAS THE SMOG?

And the tacky tourists shops.

It was a day tour to the Great Wall from Beijingh-g where we stayed at the

RENAISSANCE BEIJING WANGFUJING HOTEL

Located in the older part of town this had excellent access to ms=t of the famous sites. They arranged the tour and we had hoped to escape the smog of Beijing. Sadly not the case .

Walking the wall your realised the massive feat in building such a fortification over 8800 kilometres is quite amazing. even so far from Beijing the fog persisted  and so did the many tourist places that line the walkways and bus stops  at the base of the wall.
