To visit the Great Salt Flats it is wise to take a tour from Salta, which is a very intersting city and well worth visiting. We selected the:-
Be prepared for altitude as you will be high in the Andes and will get to 4,170 meters. The average height of the salt flats is 3,450 meters. You will travel past the Tre a las Nubes Railway or 'train in the clouds', Abra Blanc Pass, and Acay Mountain aand through some interesting small Andes villages.Try Yak and potatoes at lunch--see below.
