Monopoli-A Fascinating Town

Monopoli is one of a number of small towns along the coast of the Adriatic Sea between Bari and Brindisi that have gained interest by tourists and Monopoli is one of the least known but the old town part of Monopoli is one of the best. Monopoli is accessible by train either from Bari or Brindisi and most major airlines such as BA fly into both cities. Monopoli also provided a good place to visit neighbouring towns. The town also has some surprisingly good restaurants.Try Palmeri--see photo below  and for accommodation

Monopoli has a sea wall and a castle and a small sandy beach and narrow winding streets with white marble and many interesting old churches, some that are quite different and strange. There are many small B & B's and apartment type accommodations in the old town. For accommodation option use this LINK.
Our choice was Albergo Diffuso who had a number of quaint and different apartments in the old town and provided all that we needed with friendly service and pick-up from the train station
