Cape Fear-Not As Frightening As The Movie

Both the original move of 'Cape Fear'  in 1962 starring Gregory Peck and Robert Mitcham and the Martin Scorsese remake in 1991 with Robert De Niro , Nick Nolte and Jessica Lange had their scary moments so when the opportunity to visit Wilmington NC and the Cape Fear Region of North Carolina I jumped at it.

Wiilmington sits on the Cape Fear River and is a picturesque and historical old town with numerous  beautifully restored  old homes that have been used in numerous TV series and movies. The battleship North Carolina is moored on the river at Wilmington and is definitely worth a visit. The entrance to the Cape fear River at Southport, a small historic town is also worth a visit as is the ferry ride across the river and the drive up to Wrightsville Beach.
