Sir James Brooke First White Rajah 1841-1868
Sir James Brooke was born in England in 1803 and was a British Adventurer who foundered the Kingdon=m of Sarawak. He served in the Bengal Army in India, was injured and resigned his commission, bought a boat and saled to Borneo. There he helped crush a rebellion against the Sultan of Brunei who then held Sarawak as part of its territoy and for his work was installed as the first White Rajah of Sarawak.He served until his death in 1868.
