HISTORY

The Cape is often believed to be the most southern point in Africa but that honor goes to Caoe Agulhas, 150 km to the south east. The Cape was first named Cape of Storms by Portugues Mariner Bartolmeu Dias in 1488 and later changed to the more positive Cape of Good Hope by King John II of Portugal.
