Marble Bar was established in 1893 because of a gold find and is a town and rock formation 153kilometers east of Port Hedland.. It was given the name Marble bar because of the nearby Jasper Reef that was mistaken for marble/. There is a small otel in Marble Bar called the Marble BarTravelers Rest and a historic iron clad pub, bothg an experience and interesting but for a little more comfort Stay in Port Hedland. 

The Pilbara scenery is quite spoectacular and beautiful and go in winter. Marble Bar is jnown as the hottest town in Australia and has the record of the most days above 100 degrees  F. It was between31 October 1923 and April 7 1924 , a total of 160 days. Now that is Global Warming, almost 100 years ago..
