Getting There
Bologna was used as a stepping off point for visits to SAN MARINO and places like Firenze and Venice as there are good train connnections.From Bologna catch the train to Rimini and then there is a regular bus service to Sam Marino.

It is in the city center and a short walk to the train station
History
Saint Marinas was a stone mason from Croatia and after doing some work in Rimini started his onw independent commune in what is now San Marino in 301 AD making it the oldest Sovereign State and Constitutional Republic. With an area of only 61 KM Squares it is tiny but one of the wealthiest states in Europe.
