Luang Prabang is located in North Central Laos where the Mekong and Nam Khan river's meet. It is a unique and beautiful place with well-reserved Chinese and Colonial architecture and 34 elaborate Buddhist Temples.The Mekong is the twelveth longest river that starts in the Tibtan Plateau and flows  4350 Kilomter through China, Myanmat, Laos, Thailand , Cambodia, and Vietnam. The Nam Khan River is a trubutary of the mekong and mets at Luang Prabang. Although I could not se a bridge over the Mekong ( I am sure there are many) there was a magnificent bridge over the Nam Khan.
