FROM YALLINGUP TO GNARABUP
The Beaches of the Margaret River Region
It seemed liked yesterday but it has been ten months, ten months of confinement in Plague City (Melbourne) since the visit to the beaches of the Margaret River, now so close and yet so far and not achievable now or what appears anytime soon. This is a fond look back to the trip from Yallingup to Gnarabup, with visits to the various beaches along the way and of course an occasional visit to the wineries dotted throughout the region.
YALLINGUP
Yallingup (which means 'place of caves', 256 KM south of Perth and 25 KM from Dunsborough is a cute little town on the side of a hill with a number of very pretty beaches
INJIDUP
Injidup is just south of Yallingup and here you will find the "Canal Rocks" and 'Natural Spar'' amid a rocky outcrop. Just walk down from the car park to some of the prettiest scenery along the coast. The spar is a rock enclosed area on the shore-line where fuming sea water slips in and out
MOSES ROCK
A liitle further south head down Moses Rock Road to Moses Rock Beach where you will find a rocky beautiful shoreline
GRACETOWN & COWARAMUP BAY
Further south is the small village of Gracetown some 269 KM from Perth , known for its beaches and surf.
GNARABUP & THE RIVER MOUTH
Here you will find one of the longest beaches on th coast and the outlet of the Margaret River into the Indian Ocean.
Next Stop the wineries
A good place to stay in Margaret River Township
