SEDONA ARIZONA MAGICAL SCENERY

THE RED ROCKS OF SEDONA ARIZONA

Sedona is a magical place with some of the most beautiful scenery you will see anywhere. It is 115 miles north of Phoenix on Highway 17 or  24  miles south of Flagstaff. It can be done as a day trip but best to stay in Sedona as there is much to see and many canyons and river walks.Sedona was named after Sedona Schnebly, wife of the town first postmaster.

The Hyatt Residence Club at Pinon Point is right in town with great views.Be sure to go to Bounton Canyon, explore Oak Creek Canyon to the north of the town (including Slide Rock Park) go up Schnebly Hill Road andthe Red Rock Sceneic Byway on Highway 179 south of town. There are many art galleries and interesting shopping areas and some good and not so good restaurants. On the way there or back go to Jerome near Cottonwood and also Montezuma Castle National Monument near Camp Verde. Ensure you buy your Red Rock Pass for parking at the sights, using the vending machine at sights or at a Visitor Center. Check HERE

Best things to see are Chapel of the Holy Cross, Schnebly Hill Road, Airport Mesa, Oak Creek Canyon, Slide Rock, Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock, Boynton Canyon, Red Rock State Park and walk Oak Creek through and outside of town. I wish I was there.
