I have enjoyed Andrew McConnell's food over the years but Gimlet was as good as it gets. The fit-out in Cavendish House is classy, the service excellent and you feel like you have gone back a few years to those old classy restaurants you might find in Melbourne in years gone by.It was the food that made it great and the cooking was excellent with creative and innovative dishes very well presented. The pricing was acceptable and although a little higher than some, not over the top. This has to be one of the best in Melbourne for a long time.
