Powers Lookout is some 75 km from Mansfield on the Mansfield Whitfield Road via a 3 km dirt track. It provides some outstanding views of the King Valley and mountains around the valley. Power was born Henry Johnson in Ireland in 1819, transported to Australia at age 21 for theft, spent time in Pentridge Prison and escaped and became a bushranger and a teacher of a much younger Ned Kelly.
