The Murray Sunset National Park is the second largest park in Victoria and covers 633,000 HA and is 440 km from Melbourne. It borders the SA border to the west, the Murray River to the north and the Sturt Highway passes through a northern section. The Pink Lakes area is the site of a major salt industry from 1916-1075 and over 10,000 tons of salt were extracted.
