Worimi Regional Park & Conservation Lands
From Anna Bay (Port Stephens) to the Hunter River
The Stockton Sand Dunes and the Worimi Regional park and Conservation lands was littleknown until a recent visit to Port Stephens and a must-see if in the area. Located south of Port Stephens at Anna Bay and Birubi beach the dunes and park cover some 4,200 HA and stretch for 32 KM, south of Newcastle Airport to the entrance to the Hunter River. They are the largest moving sand dunes in the southern hemisphere and some are as wide as one kilomtre and as high as 30 metres.They travel northwards by 4 Metres per years. Access is via foot or bike. There is parking at Biubi Beach and further up Gan Gan Road although the track is unsealed.
