BORDER CONTROL AT HEATHROW-THE WORST

HEATHROW TERMINAL 5 BORDER CONTROL
IT HAS TO BE THE WORST IN THE WORLD

The British Airways flight from Brindisi-Italy to Heathrow was delayed by traffic (about twenty minutes) into Heathrow which one might expect is a common occurrence and we arrived around 10.50 PM into Terminal 5. There were over 100 people in the foreign passport line with only one attendant and as many of those waiting were Chinese and from various other non-English speaking backgrounds the time it took for each was up to ten minutes. There was a supervisor floating around doing nothing and a number of people working and standing around in the British line which emptied around 12.15 AM and two officers came to assist what still around 80-90 in the line. No one seemed fussed by the long line or the frustration of people waiting and no one cared. We exited around 1.15 AM to finds the Hoppa bus had finished operations.

The flight we were on was scheduled daily and so to the other flights that arrived at the same time late in the evening so BA (a name adequately reflecting their attitude to customers) must know what the traffic will be at that time of night and have done nothing to seek additional resourcing for the foreign entry lines. The same comment applies to Border Control

Shame on British Airways and UK Border Control.

THIRD OR FOURTH WORLD SERVICE OR LACK OF IT
