The experience with UK Border Patrol in Heathrow has to be the worst in the world, somewhat comical and 'third world' and British Airways allows it to happen to their customers!
June 2017
It was 'third world' and a circus and quite comical and you can blame British Airways one might expect as it is their major terminal at Heathrow and a similar number of flights arrive each day at the same time with the same number of passengers so they have to be aware that the Border Control cannot cope. We arrived from Italy at around 11.00 PM and there were 100 people plus at the non-British Border Patrol entry with only one officer attending and taking ten minutes per person. Most visitors were Chinese and many were asked more questions and taken away and the single officer, showed absolutely no concern about the long line disappeared leaving the place unattended. There was a so called supervisor walking around doing nothing of value and others in the British line also doing nothing and no one seemed to care. Around 12.15 AM two officers from the British line arrived and attended to the foreigners and things improved a little. There were Border Control people 'floating around' but no one cared about the line of people. This was Terminal 5, the major British Airways Terminal at Heathrow and the flights were all scheduled and this must happen every night. To further impact the weary traveller the Hoppa Bus to the airport hotels had stopped and it meant a taxi to the hotels who was not happy about the short fare and showed it.
TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE
