GREAT SMALL RESTAURANT ON THE COAST

You do not expect a small coastal town like Brunswick Heads in northern New South Wales to have a top  class restaurant, but when it gets a great write up from Neil Perry in the Qantas Magazine  claiming it to be the place where he has had the best meal all year and in such travel magazines as Gourmet Traveller as a contender for their best regional restaurant then it is definitely worth a visit and look see. With only 14 seats  and open only four days a week booking a planning can be difficult. They provide a late lunch 3.00 PM and a dinner service but even so, it is booked out well in advance.

From the street it is just another street front but inside it is warm and inviting  with a concrete counter and ten seats and four more at the window. The chef  (Josh Lewis), his wife who runs the front of house (Astrid McCormack) and the the wine guy ( Rob Mudge) run the place and provide excellent service with detailed descriptions of what you are eating. The food is innovative with varied ingredients and there is a very different , although pricey wine list.
