Duck Board Place-Foodie Heaven In Melbourne

DUCK BOARD  PLACE

It was named in 1953 after Duck Board House at 91 Flinders Lane, a well know entertainment place for WW2 troops. The place later became the Duckboard Club part of the RSL Club of Melbourne  and the reference to duck boards is to the wooden boards used to cover the mud in the trenches. The buildings have been used as warehouses and are now graffiti covered and converted into very good and interesting restaurants. The graffiti which continues around into AC/DC Lane is interesting as are the shoes that hand from the power lines  between buildings.
