THE TERRACOTTA ARMY OF XI'AN

The Terracotta Army are terracoota sculptures depicting the army of Qin Shi Huang, the First Emporer of China who were buried with the Emporer to protect him in his after life in 210-209 BC. It one pit alone there are 6,000 soldiers all with unique features , their size depending on their status. Tye site was discovered outside of Xián in 1974 by local farmers and since then excavation which is on-going revealed the warriors.
Stay in Xián and catch a local bus from the train station (clearly marked) Number 306 Green
